Industrial vibrating sieve servicing

This is an example of maintenance work carried out on a vibrating sieve that rotates on two eccentric shafts and conveys the product in a horizontal direction. The urgent maintenance was carried out because the supply of the final user of the products conveyed by the machine had to be resumed immediately, while the machine was not working and the process was stopped.

Delivery and dismantling

Vibrators brought in
There is a contact scratch near the unbalance weight
Remove the unbalance weight and check the bearing section
The oil seal case was also observed to have scratches from contact marks and metal dust from being scraped off

Parts inspection and condition checks

Cracked parts due to corrosion. As the machine was originally designed to vibrate, the damaged parts looked severe
The oil seal case was also observed to have scratches from contact marks and metal dust from being scraped off
Before shaft repair
After shaft repair
Enlarged before shaft repair
Enlarged after shaft repair

As the aim is to generate vibrations, more detailed observations were carried out on the mating parts, cases and gears, in addition to the shaft, than would normally be carried out in an inspection.

Assembly

Unbalanced weights installed

Emergency maintenance

Even companies that carry out daily maintenance based on the idea of prevention and prediction can face machine stoppages for unexpected reasons. In this case, too, the shaft was repaired in the shortest possible time, thanks to an urgent request for emergency servicing.
