KBK Engineering (hereinafter referred to as the “Company “) has established a privacy policy (hereinafter referred to as the “Policy”) regarding the handling of users' personal information in the services provided on this website (hereinafter referred to as the “Services”).
Article 1 (Personal Information)
“Personal Information” shall mean “personal information” defined in the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, and refers to information about a living individual that can identify this individual by name, date of birth, address, telephone number, contact information, and other descriptions contained in the information, as well as information that can identify this individual from the information itself, such as data on physical appearance, fingerprints, and voice prints, and the insurer number on the health insurance card, etc., (personal identification information).
Article 2 (Method of collecting personal information )
The Company may ask the user for personal information such as their name, date of birth, address, telephone number, email address, bank account number, credit card number, and driver's license number when the user registers to use the services. In addition, the Company may collect transaction and payment information including the user’s personal information exchanged between the user and business partners from the Company’s business partner, etc., (including sources of information, advertisers, advertisement distribution recipients, etc.; hereinafter collectively the “Business Partners”).
Article 3 (Purposes of collecting and using personal information)

Article 4 (Change of purposes of use)
- The Company may change the purposes of use of Personal Information only if it is reasonably deemed that the purposes of use are relevant to those before the change.
- When the purposes of use are changed, the changed purposes of use shall be notified to users or announced on the website, in a manner prescribed by the Company.
Article 5 (Provision of personal information to third parties)
- The Company shall not provide personal information to third parties without obtaining the user's prior consent except in the following cases. However, this does not apply to cases permitted under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information or other laws and regulations.
- When such provision is necessary to protect the life, body or property of someone, and it is difficult to obtain the user’s consent;
- When such provision is particularly necessary to improve public health or promote sound upbringing of children, and it is difficult to obtain the user’s consent;
- When there is a need to cooperate with a national government agency, a local government, or a person entrusted by it in handling affairs prescribed by laws and regulations, and obtaining the user’s consent may hinder the handling of said affairs; or
- When the following matters are announced or published in advance and the Company has notified the Personal Information Protection Commission thereof:
1. To include purpose of use the provision of information to third parties;
2. Data items to be provided to third parties;
3. Means or methods of provision to third parties;
4. To cease provision of personal information to third parties at the user’s request; and
5. Method of accepting the request.
- Notwithstanding the provisions of the preceding paragraph, parties to which such information is provided shall not fall under the category of third parties if:
- The Company outsources all or part of the handling of personal information to the parties to the extent necessary to achieve the purposes of use;
- The personal information is provided in conjunction with the succession of business due to merger or other reasons; or
- In the case that the personal information is used jointly with specific parties, the fact of the joint use, particulars of personal information to be jointly used, the scope of parties jointly using the personal information, the purposes of use by the joint users, and the name of the person responsible for the management of the personal information are notified to the user in advance, or are put in a state in which the user can easily know them.
Article 6 (Disclosure of personal information)
- If the Company is required by the user to disclose their personal information, it shall disclose the information to them without delay. However, the Company might not disclose all or part of the personal information if the disclosure will result in any of the following cases and if the Company determines not to disclose, it shall notify the requesting user to that effect without delay:
- The life, body, property, or other rights or interests of the person or third parties may be harmed;
- The appropriate performance of duties by the Company may be significantly hindered; or
- The disclosure would otherwise violate laws and regulations.
- Notwithstanding the provisions of the preceding paragraph, non-personal information, such as historical and characteristics information, shall not be disclosed in principle.
Article 7 (Correction and deletion of personal information)
- If the user’s personal information held by the Company is incorrect, they may request the Company to correct, add or delete their personal information (hereinafter referred to as “Correction, etc.”) in accordance with the Company's procedures.
- If the Company receives a request from the user as set forth in the preceding paragraph and determines that it is necessary to comply with the request, it shall implement the Correction, etc., of the personal information without delay.
- If the Company implements the Correction, etc., in accordance with the preceding paragraph or determines not to implement the Correction, etc., it shall notify the user to that effect without delay.
Article 8 (Suspension of the use of personal information)
- In the case that the Company is requested by the user to suspend the use of their personal information or to delete it (hereinafter referred to as the “Suspension, etc., of Use”) on the grounds that it is being handled beyond the scope of the purposes of use or that it has been obtained by unlawful means, the Company shall conduct the necessary investigation without delay.
- If the Company determines to comply with the request based on the results of the investigation under the preceding paragraph, it shall implement the Suspension, etc., of Use of the personal information without delay.
- If the Company implements the Suspension, etc., of Use in accordance with the preceding paragraph or determines not to implement the Suspension, etc., of Use, it shall notify the user to that effect without delay.
- Notwithstanding the preceding two paragraphs, in the case that the Suspension, etc., of Use requires significant costs or is otherwise difficult to implement, and alternative measures can be taken to protect the user’s rights and interests, such alternative measures shall be taken.
Article 9 (Changes to privacy policy)
- The content of this policy may be changed without notice to the user, except in the case that laws, regulations, or other parts of this Policy stipulate otherwise.
- Unless otherwise specified by the Company, the amended Privacy Policy shall become effective upon posting on this website.
